What it does
Provides anonymous-first authentication for iOS apps where users can start using core features immediately without creating an account. On first launch the app calls the backend, which does a Supabase anonymous sign-in — the user gets a *real*, cryptographically signed JWT (is_anonymous: true, role: authenticated) and a stable user id right away. Later the user can optionally Sign in with Apple, which is linked to the *same* Supabase user via linkIdentity — the user id never changes, so there is zero data migration. The backend uses Hono middleware with three access levels: public, identity-required (anonymous + authenticated), and auth-required (non-anonymous / linked only).
> Choosing between auth skills: This skill is for apps that let users try core features > without signing in first (e.g., utility apps, content apps, freemium tools) on a Supabase + > Cloudflare Workers stack. If you are on AWS (Cognito + App Runner), use > [auth-cognito-anonymous](skill://auth-cognito-anonymous) instead. The two skills are > deliberately structured the same way so you can read them side by side. The key difference: > Cognito Identity Pool assigns a *different* Identity ID to anonymous vs. authenticated > sessions, so signing in requires a POST /v1/auth/sync data-migration step; Supabase keeps > the same `user id` across linkIdentity, so linking Apple needs no migration at all.
